Milk N Pearl

When designing for compact retail spaces, every square inch must tell a story. For our latest project, Milk and Pearl, we stepped away from the traditional, bright aesthetics often associated with bubble tea shops to create something more grounded, architectural, and timeless.

The challenge was to make a narrow, linear space feel expansive rather than enclosed. Our solution lay in Lighting and Geometry. By installing continuous recessed LED channels, we created a sense of "infinite lines" that led the customer through the space.

The colour story is a sophisticated dialogue between the cool, urban feel of concrete and the rich, organic warmth of terracotta. This is most evident at the service counter, where a clean architectural arch frames the kitchen area. The use of vertical grooves in the orange panelling adds a rhythmic texture that changes as the light hits it throughout the day.

At Milk Pearl, the furniture is as much a part of the architecture as the walls. We paired long-form wooden bar counters with industrial stools to maintain an open floor plan, ensuring that even during peak hours, the space remains easy to navigate.

This project is a testament to the fact that with the right balance of material and light, even the smallest spaces can leave a lasting impression.
